Workings

Historic industrial town scene with labeled buildings, including a spinning mill, sorting shop, boiler house, and packing shed, with a tall chimney and surrounding countryside.
A black and white photo of a quiet street in a small town, featuring a vintage car parked on the left side. The street is lined with various shops, including a cafe and other storefronts. The architecture is traditional, with awnings and signs hanging above the sidewalk.

Out of the various walking projects have come a couple of more finished, outward facing pieces. While my short film Hunting The Stag is rough, it was a new departure for me and made as part of my creative portfolio while at Dartington College.

Spending time in Devon allowed me to start on the second Working - Stalking The Ancestors. While I and my parents were born in Ealing, West London - both my Mother’s parents, and my Father’s father, all came from Buckfastleigh, a village two hours walk from Dartington. This is emerging as a book - not about family history - but at how dancing with our ancestors is fun (usually) and informative.
